There could be a few reasons why the temperature reading is not accurate. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Ensure proper probe insertion: Make sure that the probe is inserted vertically and at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep into the meat. This ensures that the probe is measuring the internal temperature accurately.
2. Check for correct temperature unit: Confirm that you have selected the correct temperature unit (either °C or °F) by pressing and holding the LOCK/°F/°C button for 3 seconds. The selected unit will remain when you turn on the thermometer next time.
3. Calibration: Although the thermometer is calibrated precisely at the manufacturing facility, if you believe the temperature reading is consistently inaccurate, you can calibrate it. Follow the calibration instructions provided in the user manual to ensure accurate readings.
4. Battery replacement: If the batteries are low, it may affect the accuracy of the temperature reading. Replace the batteries with new ones and ensure they are inserted correctly.
