To connect the MARMITEK Connect AE14 HDMI Audio Extractor to your TV and audio equipment, follow these steps:
1. Prior to installation, determine which HDMI and audio cables are required. Please note that these cables are not included with the product.
2. Turn off all devices, including your TV, audio equipment, and HDMI sources, before connecting them to the Connect AE14. If a device cannot be turned off, unplug it from the wall socket.
3. Use a High Speed HDMI certified cable to connect the HDMI source (e.g., digital TV decoder, Chromecast, media player) to the "HDMI input" of the Connect AE14.
4. Use another HDMI cable to connect your TV (monitor or projector) to the "HDMI output" of the Connect AE14. If you want to use the ARC function, make sure your TV supports it. Refer to your TV's manual to determine which HDMI port supports ARC.
5. Use the appropriate audio cable to connect your audio device (e.g., home cinema set, audio amplifier, soundbar) to the output marked "Digital" or "Stereo" on the Connect AE14.
- For digital audio output, use an optical (TOSlink) or coaxial cable. This output supports DTS, Dolby Digital, and PCM 2.0 formats.
- For stereo audio output, use a stereo jack cable. This output supports the analog stereo audio format.
6. Connect the power adapter to the "DC 5V" input on the Connect AE14, and plug it into a power socket.
Once the connections are made, you can use the MARMITEK Connect AE14 HDMI Audio Extractor to play audio from your Smart TV applications, connect HDMI sources to your audio equipment, listen to music without the TV being turned on, and utilize the Audio Return Channel (ARC) function if supported.
