To connect the i-tec C31TRAVELEASYDOCKPD USB-C Travel Easy Docking Station to an external monitor, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure your laptop has a USB-C interface with "DisplayPort Alternate Mode" and "Power Delivery" support, as not all USB-C devices/systems have this standard. Alternatively, you can use a Thunderbolt 3/Thunderbolt 4 port.
2. Connect the i-tec C31TRAVELEASYDOCKPD USB-C Travel Easy Docking Station to your laptop using the integrated USB-C cable provided (18 cm).
3. Connect the external monitor to the docking station's HDMI port using a high-quality HDMI cable.
4. Once the connections are made, your laptop may automatically detect the external monitor. If not, you may need to adjust the display settings on your laptop.
- For Windows:
- Right-click on the Desktop and select "Display Settings".
- Here, you can select the monitor usage, resolution, and frequency.
- You can choose between Mirror mode (same display on both screens) or Extend mode (extended desktop across both screens).
- Adjust the settings according to your preference.
- For macOS X:
- After connecting the monitor, the screen on your Mac may flicker, which is normal.
- Go to System Preferences and click on "Displays".
- Click on "Arrangement" and in the default mode (Extended desktop), you can drag the new monitor as necessary relative to the Mac monitor.
- You can choose between Mirror displays (same display on both screens) or Extended desktop mode.
