To connect the Fisher & Paykel OB24SDPT Built-In Oven to the mains electricity supply, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power supply before starting any work on the electrical section of the appliance.
2. Ensure that the oven is grounded and connected to a good ground wiring system.
3. Do not use adapters, reducers, or branching devices to connect the oven to the mains power supply.
4. If the installation requires alterations to the domestic electrical system, call a qualified electrician.
5. The oven must be installed and connected to the mains power supply only by an authorized person.
6. Make sure the cavity is completely sealed with no gaps to ensure proper oven cooling system function.
7. Do not install the oven behind a decorative door to avoid overheating.
8. Take extra care not to damage the lower trim of the oven during installation, as it is important for correct air circulation and door operation.
9. Connect the oven with copper wire only and do not cut the conduit.
10. Use a U.L. listed conduit connector at the junction box.
11. Do not ground the oven to a gas pipe.
12. Fuse both sides of the line and use a time delay fuse or circuit breaker.
13. Connect the oven directly to the fused disconnect or circuit breaker box using flexible, armored, or non-metallic sheathed copper cable with a grounding wire.
14. If a separate grounding wire is used, ensure it is in accordance with local codes.
15. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a qualified person.
16. Follow all local building and electricity regulations for installation.
