To properly tune the Rockford Fosgate 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson M5-800X4 amplifier, please follow the instructions below:
1. Before installing the amplifier, remove the cover and set the PRESET switch to the OFF position. Ensure that all other settings are properly configured. Once done, replace the cover for water-tight protection.
2. If you are using a Harmon Kardon factory radio, please note that the RADIO EQ should be set to the default settings, and no flash is required. The TURN-ON function should also be working properly, and the blue remote wire is not required.
3. After the system is installed, perform a system test to ensure proper operation. Press the AUDIO switch on your radio to cycle through and configure the following options:
- BASS: Set it to the CENTER position.
- TREBLE: Set it to the CENTER position.
- FADER (FLHTCU Models): Test the front/back fader control and set it to your desired rider position.
- DISPLAY: Set the contrast to your desired level.
- VOLUME: Set the volume to your desired setting for each source.
- ADV (Automatic Volume Control): Turn it OFF. The AVC can clip audio output and potentially damage your speakers.
