To apply the ALUMA-SHIELD 21059 Conductor Termination Compound to aluminum cable connections, please follow these instructions:
1. Mix the contents of the compound prior to use.
2. Coat the strands of the aluminum cable with the compound. You can brush or abrade the surfaces through the compound to ensure proper coverage. Work the compound down in between the strands.
3. Insert the coated cable into the connector and tighten or compress the joint.
4. CAUTION: Wipe off excess compound thoroughly from the outside of the connector and cable insulation.
It is important to note that the ALUMA-SHIELD 21059 Conductor Termination Compound is only UL Listed for use on electrical cables in cable connector assemblies or on bus bars rated for NEC applications up to 600 V, 1000 V in signs or fixtures, and 90ºC.
