To switch between different HDMI inputs using the BLACK BIRD 43963 4K 3x1 HDMI Switch, you have two options: Auto Switching Mode and Manual Switching Mode.
1. Auto Switching Mode: In this mode, the switch automatically selects the input with an active HDMI signal. It follows these rules:
- When a new input signal is detected, the switch automatically selects that input.
- The switch remembers its switching state when power is lost. When power is restored, the switch will attempt to select the last input used. If that input is not available, the switch automatically selects the lowest numbered active input.
- When the selected source is removed, the switch automatically selects the lowest numbered active input.
To enable Auto Switching Mode, press and hold the SOURCE AUTO/3s button on the front panel of the switch for 3 seconds. The AUTO LED on the front panel will illuminate blue to indicate that Auto Switching Mode is active.
2. Manual Switching Mode: In this mode, you can manually select the desired input using the included IR remote control or the SOURCE AUTO/3s button on the front panel.
To switch inputs using the IR remote control:
- Press the AUTO button to toggle between Auto Switching Mode and Manual Switching Mode.
- Press one of the numbered buttons (1, 2, or 3) to select the corresponding input when in Manual Switching Mode. The blank button has no effect.
To switch inputs using the SOURCE AUTO/3s button on the front panel:
- When in Manual Switching Mode (AUTO LED off), momentarily press the button to cycle through the available active inputs.
- Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to toggle between Auto Switching Mode and Manual Switching Mode.
