To connect your LG CM8440 Mini Shelf System to your TV, you can use either an HDMI cable or an optical cable. Here are the steps to connect using each method:
1. HDMI Connection:
a. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) port on the back of the CM8440 system.
b. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) port on your TV.
c. Make sure that the HDMI ARC function is enabled on your TV. Refer to your TV's user manual for instructions on how to do this.
d. Turn on your TV and the CM8440 system. The audio from your TV should now be played through the CM8440 speakers.
2. Optical Connection:
a. Connect one end of the optical cable to the OPTICAL OUT port on the back of the CM8440 system.
b. Connect the other end of the optical cable to the optical audio input port on your TV.
c. Set the audio output of your TV to "Optical" or "Digital Audio Out." Refer to your TV's user manual for instructions on how to do this.
d. Turn on your TV and the CM8440 system. The audio from your TV should now be played through the CM8440 speakers.
