To install the Martec MBHL1000W Bathroom Heater Linear Halogen Heat LED Light Fan 3 in 1, please follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, ensure that you have read and understood all the instructions provided in the user manual.
2. Make sure to comply with the appropriate council regulations and the Australia and New Zealand wiring rules AS/NZS3000:2000 or the latest edition.
3. All wiring must be carried out by a Licensed Electrician in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
4. Ensure that the power is turned off before starting the installation.
5. When cutting into the wall, be careful not to damage any electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
6. Properly ground the heater.
7. The heat lamp and glass shield can get hot when in use, so avoid touching them with any part of your body.
8. Do not lay the ventiduct of the heater together with the ventiduct of air-fueled water heater or other open-fire appliances into the same flue to avoid dangerous gas leakage.
9. The heater must be isolated from the power by means of a plug or all-pole disconnection switch with a contact separation of at least 3mm in each pole.
10. Ensure that the power cable can handle a minimum 10A load.
11. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning its use by a person responsible for their safety.
12. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
13. Install the heater in a way that switches and other controls cannot be touched by a person in the bath or shower.
14. Do not cover the appliance with insulating material or similar material.
15. Make sure to fulfill regulations concerning the discharge of air.
16. Do not cut or notch joists, beams, or rafters to install the appliance.
17. Before installing, consider the following:
- Do not install the unit directly above a shower or bathtub.
- The unit must not be installed in a position where water may splash onto it.
- The unit must not be installed beneath a fixed socket or power outlet.
- The unit is designed for installation in flat ceilings only, not on sloping ceilings or vertical walls.
- Mount the unit in a place where you would stand to dry yourself for the most effective heat lamp usage.
- Ensure that replacement air can enter the room to allow efficient exhaust fan operation.
- Check for any obstructions in the ceiling space and ensure sufficient height clearance for the housing.
- Check that the electrical wiring can be routed from the wall switches to the mounting location.
18. Follow the detailed installation instructions provided in the user manual, including cutting a vent, ducting, preparing the ceiling, removing the fascia and lamps, wiring, positioning the housing into the hole, and final installation steps.
