To install the Maxxima MEW-LS511-02 Plastic Lamp Holder with Pull Chain, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure the power is turned off by switching the circuit breaker to the off position or removing the fuse from the fuse panel and turning off the wall switch.
2. If there is an existing fixture, remove it.
3. Partially xxxx the provided mounting screws into the junction box shown in figure 1.
4. If necessary, strip the supply wires back approximately 1/2".
5. Wrap the white wire (neutral) around the silver xxxx shown in figure 2a. Tighten the silver xxxx to secure the white wire.
6. Wrap the black wire (hot) around the brass xxxx similar to figure 2a. Tighten the brass xxxx to secure the black wire.
7. Ensure there is enough room inside the junction box. Push the supply wires into the junction box and align the xxxx heads with the cutouts in the lamp holder base.
8. Turn the lamp holder until the xxxx head is fully seated in the cutout, then tighten the screws until the lamp holder cannot rotate. Be careful not to over-tighten the mounting screws.
9. Installation is now complete. Install the desired light bulb and restore power. After power is restored, pull on the pull chain to confirm functionality.
If the existing cutouts do not line up with the junction box, you can open the inner cutout by using a screwdriver to remove the plastic.
