To mount the FIRMAN 2035 Retractable Extension Cord Reel to the wall or ceiling, please follow these steps:

1. Select a mounting location within 2 feet (0.6M) of a properly grounded electrical outlet. The outlet for a garage door opener is ideal.

2. Ensure that the mounting surface is suitable for holding the weight of the cord reel. Drywall alone will not be sufficient, so it is necessary to locate a ceiling joist or wall stud.

3. Press the button located on the center of the mounting bracket to separate the two pieces.

4. Use the separate installation template provided or the longer mounting bracket half to mark the four mounting  xxxx  locations. Make sure the marked  xxxx  locations are centered on the selected ceiling joist or wall stud.

5. Line up the mounting bracket holes over the marked  xxxx  locations and secure the long mounting bracket half to the ceiling joist or wall stud using suitable screws.

6. Insert one side of the cord reel into the mounted bracket and support the weight while sliding the second half of the mounting bracket into place until it locks, securing the cord reel.

If you need to adjust the cable stopper position, pull the cable from the reel and allow it to latch at the desired length. Loosen the stopper  xxxx  and slide the stopper to the desired position. Tighten the stopper  xxxx .
