To connect your mobile device to the RICE LAKE HealthWeigh Digital Bluetooth Low Energy Demo, please follow these steps:
1. Download and install the nRF™Connect application from your mobile device's application store.
2. Power on the HealthWeigh scale. The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) server profile will start, and the scale will stabilize at zero. During this time, the scale is hidden from BLE client scans.
3. Place a load on the scale to exit the zero state. This will activate the BLE server profile and start scanning for a BLE client to connect.
4. Open the nRF™Connect application on your mobile device and enable Bluetooth.
5. The HealthWeigh scale will appear as "HealthWeigh" in the list of available devices. Select it to initiate the connection.
6. Once the connection is established, the profile will send a notification to the connected BLE client, which will read the data from the server. Make sure to enable the notification on the desired characteristics immediately after the connection is made.
7. After 2.5 seconds from the moment the connection was made, an additional notification will be sent. This is particularly helpful for Windows® BLE clients to receive the notification at the correct time.
8. The server and client will remain connected as long as the client stays connected, even if the scale returns to zero. If the scale remains at zero for 15 seconds, the profile will stop scanning, and the scale will become hidden from BLE client scans.
Please note that the pairing code for the HealthWeigh scale is 123456, but it is not required for establishing a BLE connection with the module.
