To set up the Arlo AVD2001 Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same network.
2. Download and install the Arlo app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
3. Open the Arlo app and create an Arlo account if you don't have one already. If you have an existing Arlo account, log in to it.
4. Tap on the "+" icon in the top-right corner of the app's home screen to add a new device.
5. Select "Doorbell" from the list of available devices.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the QR code on the back of the Arlo AVD2001 Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell or manually enter the serial number.
7. Choose a location for the doorbell and ensure that it is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
8. Install the provided rechargeable battery into the doorbell. Make sure it is fully charged before proceeding.
9. Press and hold the sync button on the doorbell until the LED light on the front starts blinking amber.
10. In the Arlo app, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password when prompted. The app will then attempt to connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi network.
11. Once the connection is established, you can customize the doorbell settings, such as motion detection sensitivity and notification preferences, through the Arlo app.
