To clean the Head Studs before installation, follow these steps:
1. Inspect the Studs, Washers, and Nuts to ensure they are free of shipping damage and obvious defects.
2. Clean the Head Studs with solvent (such as Brake Cleaner or Lacquer Thinner) to remove the rust inhibitor. This will ensure that the thread sealant will properly seal to the studs.
3. Clean all threads in the block. It is recommended to use a Thread Chaser on the threads of the block to ensure they are completely clean.
By following these steps, you will ensure that the Head Studs are clean and ready for installation.
