To clean the water tank of the Black+Decker ICR2020 Vitessa Advanced Steam Iron, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the iron is unplugged and has completely cooled down.
2. Open the water-fill cover located on the iron's body.
3. Fill the water tank with warm water, but make sure not to exceed the "MAX" fill line.
4. Add a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid to the water in the tank.
5. Close the water-fill cover securely.
6. Shake the iron gently to allow the soapy water to reach all parts of the tank.
7. Let the soapy water sit in the tank for a few minutes to loosen any build-up.
8. Empty the soapy water from the tank by holding the iron over a sink and opening the water tank door.
9. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.
10. Repeat the rinsing process until the water runs clear.
11. Once the tank is clean, leave the water tank door open to allow it to air dry completely.
12. After the tank is dry, you can refill it with water for future use.
Note: It is recommended to clean the water tank every 2-4 weeks for optimal performance. If you have hard water, you may need to clean it more frequently. Avoid using vinegar or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the iron.
