To install the Commercial Electric 81595 2 in Keyless Socket, please follow the steps below:
1. Turn off the power supply before starting the installation process.
2. Remove the existing light bulb or reflector from the socket. Also, remove the candle cover and keep it aside.
3. Take out the cardboard tube from the lamp socket. Disconnect the wires from the old lamp socket. If the wires are soldered to the socket, cut them as close to the socket as possible.
4. Remove the old lamp socket and feed the wires through the bracket if applicable. xxxx on the new socket. Loosen the side bracket screws and adjust the socket to the desired height. Make sure to retighten the side bracket screws.
5. Strip the insulation from the wires to expose 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch of bare copper strands. Be careful not to damage the wire strands or insulation beyond the stripped length.
6. Twist the copper strands of each wire tightly together. Loop the wires clockwise 3/4 turn around the terminal screws. Firmly tighten the screws over the wire loops. Connect the white or ribbed wire (or the one with a color tracer or silver strands) to the silver terminal xxxx , and connect the remaining wire to the brass terminal xxxx . Cut off any loose strands that are not secure under the xxxx heads.
7. Replace the cardboard tube on the lamp socket. Ensure that the slot in the tube goes over the protruding rivet pin to prevent movement.
8. Put the candle cover back in place. The candle cover should be at the same height as the cardboard tube.
9. Finally, plug in the lamp or restore power to complete the installation.
