To clean the pump, do not immerse or soak it in any water or fluids. Instead, check for external damage and spray or wipe the outside of the case with a quaternary ammonium solution. Do not spray the cleaning solution directly on the surface of the pump. After allowing the solution to incubate for 10 minutes, wipe the case with a clean cloth. Make sure all areas are clean, including the top, bottom, and sides. Spray a cloth with cleaning solution and clean the faceplate, being careful not to allow excess cleaning solution on the faceplate or control panel. Allow the surface to thoroughly dry after cleaning.
To clean the mattress, brush off or wipe down all surfaces of the cover sheet with soap and water before wetting with any liquid disinfectant. For any obvious blood spots, wet them thoroughly with a 1:9 Hypochlorite solution and allow drying for at least 10 minutes before blotting with a clean, damp cloth. Unzip the top cover from the mattress and brush or wipe down all surfaces with soap and water before applying any liquid disinfectant. Immerse and soak the covers in disinfectant for the required incubation time, then rinse them through a regular cycle in a washer with no soap and launder with mild detergent. Afterward, aerate the covers until they are fully dry. For the air cells, unsnap them from one side and spray them on all sides with a disinfectant. Let it sit for the required incubation time and wipe down with a clean cloth. The tubing set and carrying bag should also be cleaned using the same disinfectant solution. Dry the mattress on a flat surface away from exposure to sunlight.
