Yes, you can use the Kwikset 99140-102 Smart Lock Conversion Kit with an existing deadbolt. As long as your deadbolt is mounted separately from the handle below it, it is compatible with the Kwikset Convert. Before proceeding with the installation, make sure to remove all existing deadbolt hardware from the interior side of your door.
