To align the secondary mirror on the Celestron 31051 AstroMaster 70EQ Refractor Telescope, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Remove the eyepiece from the telescope.
2. Locate the collimation screws on the secondary mirror holder. These screws are usually located on the back of the telescope tube.
3. Use a collimation tool, such as a collimation cap or a laser collimator, to assist you in aligning the secondary mirror.
4. Insert the collimation tool into the focuser and center the tool's crosshairs or laser dot in the middle of the primary mirror.
5. Look through the collimation tool and adjust the collimation screws on the secondary mirror holder until the reflected crosshairs or laser dot aligns with the center of the tool's crosshairs or laser dot.
6. Repeat this process a few times, making small adjustments to the collimation screws each time, until the reflected crosshairs or laser dot is perfectly centered with the tool's crosshairs or laser dot.
7. Once the secondary mirror is aligned, reinsert the eyepiece and check the image quality. It should be sharper and clearer.
Please note that collimation may need to be performed periodically, especially if the telescope has been transported or bumped. Refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions on collimating the Celestron 31051 AstroMaster 70EQ Refractor Telescope.
