To install the XZENT X-F270 Infotainer-Naviceiver in your Fiat Ducato Series 8 vehicle, you will need the separately available mounting frame N-XFDUC8. This mounting frame replaces the two-piece metal mounting frame set that is supplied with the X-F270 device. 

Here are the installation steps:

1. Push the mounting frame N-XFDUC8 onto the back end of the X-F270 device.
2. Affix the frame to the device using two M5x6 screws on the left and right side.

This pre-assembled combo will replace the ex-works mounted frame of the vehicle with "radio preparation."

Additionally, if you want to connect the steering wheel buttons to the device, follow these steps:

1. The rear steering wheel buttons (3 buttons each on the left and right side) are connected to the device via a red mini-ISO connector.
2. Use the adapter cable supplied with the X-F270 to connect Key1/2/GND over the mini-ISO connector.

Please note that the telephone buttons on the front side of the steering wheel are only present as LIN bus signals in separate non-accessible wires. This prevents telephone button function integration over the existing analog wiring. However, you can integrate the telephone buttons by using a "double function assignment" of the rear MUTE button. This allows you to accept and end calls using the MUTE control button located on the steering wheel backside.

To enable this setup, ensure that your X-F270 device has v2.5 software version or higher. You will also need to manually switch the device from MODE1 to MODE2. After setting MODE2, restart the device to apply the setup change.

You can find the MODE1/MODE2 setup under:
Settings > Other > SWC Assignment > Mode 2 (refer to the manual for a visual guide).

If you want to map the telephone buttons on the front side of the steering wheel to the device, you can use separately available SWC interface modules from different suppliers. Refer to the instructions that come with the interface for supported button functions and connection to the IR-In of the XZENT X-F270 (e.g., "N-XFDUC8-SWC1").
