To install the AVG AVL-306CS3 Wall Mounted Range Hood, you will need the following tools: Philips screwdriver, hammer and flat blade screwdriver, sheet metal shears, pair of pliers, scissors (to cut duct tape), duct tape, marker or pencil, level, and measuring tape.
Here are the steps to install the range hood:
1. Before installing the hood, make sure to read and understand all the safety precautions mentioned in the user manual.
2. Ensure that the hood is suitable for residential use only and not for exhausting hazardous or explosive materials.
3. Wear protective gloves when installing, cleaning, or servicing the unit, as the range hood may have sharp edges.
4. The hood must be installed by a qualified technician to adhere to safety standards. The manufacturer declines responsibility for failure to follow safety standards.
5. Follow all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction, when installing the hood.
6. Ensure sufficient air for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the chimney of fuel-burning equipment to prevent back-drafting.
7. Follow the guidelines and safety standards of the heating equipment manufacturer, as well as those published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and local code authorities.
8. When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, be careful not to damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
9. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors. Do not vent exhaust air into spaces within walls, ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, or garages.
10. Do not make alterations to the original wiring of the hood.
11. Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of the hood unless it is specifically recommended in the manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
12. To reduce the risk of a range top grease fire, never leave a range unattended, use proper pan size, and clean the unit's surfaces frequently.

16. Provide adequate wall framing for support, especially if mounting on drywall. The hood must be securely mounted to vertical studs in the wall or to a horizontal support.
17. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the manual for installing the hood mounting bracket, upper chimney mounting bracket, and the hood itself.
18. Plan the route for venting exhaust to the outdoors, using the shortest and straightest duct route possible. Install a wall cap or roof cap at the exterior opening/wall and connect round metal ductwork to it.
19. After installation, plug the hood's power cord into the outlet and ensure that the hood is functioning properly.
