To connect the j5create JCD389 Ultradrive Kit USB-C Multi Display Modular Dock to your laptop, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your laptop has an available USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt mode and USB Power Delivery (PD) support.
2. Connect the main body of the dock to your laptop using a USB-C cable. You can use either a single USB-C cable or dual USB-C cables, depending on your preference.
3. If you want to use additional display options, choose one of the included magnetic connection kits that suits your needs. Each kit can work alone on a USB-C equipped device or simultaneously with the main body on one laptop.
4. Attach the chosen magnetic connection kit to the main body of the dock using the magnetic connectors.
5. Connect your external display or other devices to the appropriate ports on the magnetic connection kit. For example, if you are using the USB-C to 4K HDMI kit, connect your HDMI display to the HDMI port on the kit.
6. If you are using a high-powered USB device, it is recommended to attach the USB-C power adapter to the PD port on the dock to ensure maximum performance.
7. Once all connections are made, power on your laptop and the connected devices. Your laptop should detect the dock and display the additional displays or other devices connected to it.
