To update the software on your XZENT X-F270 Multimedia and Navigation System, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Download and prepare the USB flash drive for the update process.
- Visit the XZENT website and download the self-extracting archive update file (exe file).
- Copy the downloaded file to a USB flash drive (8 GB or less, formatted in FAT32).
- Double-click the EXE file and extract its contents directly to the root directory of the USB flash drive.
- After extraction, you should see two files (GIMINI_PACK.BIN and sppf_mcu32.img) and a folder named "D2A-FW" on the USB flash drive.

Step 2: Update the APP and MCU.
- Connect the USB flash drive to USB-1 on the XZENT X-F270.
- Go to Setup > Others > Install Software.
- If you don't see this option, it means you have a software version lower than v1.6. In that case, you need to first update to v1.6 before proceeding.
- Confirm the installation of the software and wait for the update process to complete.
- The device will automatically restart and go through several steps (Bootscreen, APP update, Update Successful, Boot logo, Main Menu, MCU update, MCU complete).
- Remove the USB flash drive when prompted to do so.

- After completing the APP and MCU update, remove the GIMINI_PACK.BIN and sppf_mcu32.img files from the USB flash drive.
- Connect the USB flash drive to USB-1 again.

- A pop-up message "Update Firmware" should appear for about 3 seconds.
- Once the progress bar starts updating, you can safely remove the USB flash drive to avoid accidental re-updating.
- After successful installation, verify that the DAB firmware version is displayed as "< V10-000A0A-01-0121-011B >" in the DAB source settings.

Step 4: Load factory settings.
- Go to Setup > Others > Load Factory > OK to load the factory settings.
- Your XZENT X-F270 Multimedia and Navigation System is now ready for regular use.
