To install the Unified Brands DH-400L D and DL Tilting Kettle Power-Aid Cover Kit, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the cover and components and locate the U-shaped riser bracket and mounting hardware.
2. Remove the four-hole plug caps in the left trunnion plate.
3. Align the riser to the holes in the trunnion plate.
4. Align the holes in the riser bracket to the cover and install the mounting bolts, lock washers, and nuts to secure the bracket to the cover, gasket, and backing plate. Tighten the nuts to a 20 ft/lb torque.
5. Align the studs on the cover actuator to the holes in the top of the riser bracket. Assemble the fender washers and nuts to the underside of the actuator, but leave them loose enough for adjustment.
6. Assemble the actuator to the three studs on the domed cover and secure using thread locking compound and the dome nuts supplied in the cover kit. Tighten the dome nuts to 20 in/lb torque.
7. Ensure the kettle is tilted to the full upright position and then lower the cover over the kettle. Adjust the mounting bracket to align the cover over the kettle and then fully tighten the four nuts securing the actuator to the riser to a 10 ft/lb torque.
8. Install the handle spacers over the two studs at the front of the cover and apply thread-locking compound to the ends of the two studs.
9. Attach the handle over the spacers and secure it with two dome nuts. Tighten the nuts to a 20 ft-lb torque and then install the red ball on the handle end.
10. Adjust the tension in the actuator assembly by turning the adjusting nuts as shown in the manual.
11. The completed Power-Aid cover assembly should resemble the illustration provided in the manual.
Please refer to the Unified Brands DH-400L D and DL Tilting Kettle Instruction Manual for detailed instructions and illustrations.
