To install the FORNO FRHWM5084-36 Range Hood, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location: Choose a suitable location for the range hood, ensuring a minimum distance of 25" from an electric cooktop and 30" from a gas cooktop.
2. Prepare the installation area: Draw a vertical line on the supporting wall up to the ceiling, or as high as practical, at the center of the area where the hood will be installed. Draw a horizontal line at the desired height (minimum 25" above the electric hob or 30" above the gas hob).
3. Mount the chimney brackets: Place the chimney mounting brackets on the wall, aligning the center with the vertical reference line. Mark the wall at the center of the holes in the bracket.
4. Mount the hood: Place the hood on the wall, aligning the center with the vertical reference line and ensuring the bottom part of the hood aligns with the horizontal line. Mark the wall at the center of the holes in the hood. Fix the bracket and hood using the mounting screws.
5. Mount the hood body: Hook the body onto the screws in the wall and balance the hood body by slightly adjusting the hood mounting screws.
6. Fix the damper: Fix the damper (flaps) into the air outlet adapter, ensuring it is flexible in opening and closing.
7. Fix the duct: Attach a 6" round duct to the recessed area of the air outlet adapter. Secure the duct using duct tape to seal the joints.
8. Connect the ductwork: Decide where the ductwork will run between the hood and the outside. Attach an adequate length of 6" round duct to the air outlet adapter. Install a roof/wall cap and connect the round metal ductwork to the cap, sealing the joints with duct tape.
9. Electrical connection: The electrical wiring must be done by a qualified person in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Turn off the electrical power at the service entrance before wiring. Use the supplied plug and extension cord for the hood.
10. Telescopic chimney assembly: Raise the decorative chimney top inside the decorative chimney bottom and secure it to the chimney mounting bracket using the supplied screws.
11. Operation: Clean the surface of the hood periodically with hot soapy water and a clean cloth. Clean the stainless steel baffle filters after every 30 hours of use by hand in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher. Clean the hood body and filters to prevent grease and residue buildup.
