To install the Dwyer IS/PX/TX Series Insite In-Line Flowmeter, follow these steps:
1. Identify the inlet and outlet ends of the flowmeter body. The flow direction is indicated by an arrow on the printed scale.
2. The flowmeter can be mounted in any convenient orientation (vertical, horizontal, or anything in-between) without affecting performance.
3. Connect the end fittings to the plastic body using O-ring sealed straight threads. There is no need to over torque or use sealant, plumbing tape, or pipe dope.
4. The end fittings accept pipe with tapered threads (NPT). Use Teflon tape on the pipe threads and apply standard torques to make leak-free connections.
5. Use a wrench only on the end fitting when piping the meter inline. Do not apply wrenches on the plastic body when connecting to the pipe, only on the end fittings.
6. Consider installing a disconnect fitting upstream of the flowmeter for easier removal during cleaning.
7. Install control valves downstream of the flowmeter.
Note: Please refer to the Dwyer IS/PX/TX Series Insite In-Line Flowmeter Instruction Manual for more detailed installation instructions and safety precautions.
