To clean and maintain your Jiffy Steamer J-2 Garment with Plastic Steam Head, follow these recommended instructions:
1. Cleaning the Steamer:
- Unplug the steamer from the power outlet and allow it to cool down.
- Pour 4 ounces of water into the steamer's water tank.
- Plug in the steamer and let it heat up until it produces steam.
- Unplug the steamer and let it cool for 2 minutes.
- Pour out all the water from the steamer.
- Pour in 5 ounces (1/2 bottle) of Jiffy Steamer Liquid Cleaner into the water tank. Do not steam the unit with the liquid cleaner.
- Leave the liquid cleaner in the unit for 3 hours.
- Pour out the liquid cleaner solution.
- Scrub the steamer with a stiff-bristled brush to remove any excess sediment if necessary.
- Flush the unit with fresh water three times to remove any remaining cleaner residue.
- Resume steaming as normal.
2. Regular Maintenance:
- Do not use additives such as salt, vinegar, bleach, perfumes, or dyes in the water. These substances can corrode or clog internal parts.
- Never allow the steamer to run dry of water, as this can cause damage to the heating element and wiring.
- Do not pour cold water into a hot steamer. Let the unit cool down before adding water to avoid potential damage.
- Steam in a vertical, upright position, and avoid tilting the unit forward or backward.
- Make sure the hose nut is securely tightened to prevent any leaks.
- Do not use an extension cord with the steamer.
- Avoid pulling the steamer by the power cord, as it may damage the internal wiring.
- Before storing the steamer for an extended period (30 days or more), empty all water from the unit to prevent sediment buildup.
