To clean the windscreen, wash it with a clean soft cloth and plenty of warm water. If necessary, you can use a non-abrasive soap such as dishwashing liquid. It is recommended to use a flannel or soft chamois as a cleaning cloth. For the removal of paint, glue residue, or grease, you can moisten a cotton wad with naphtha or turpentine followed by a wash with warm water and soap.
It is important to note that you should not clean the windscreen in hot sun or high temperatures. Additionally, avoid using household glass cleaners as they may damage the polycarbonate material. It is also advised to prevent brake fluid, alcohol, or strong solvents from coming into contact with the windscreen.
For daily cleaning, National Cycle Shield Wash™ (N1401-01) is recommended as a safe cleaner for all windshields and helmet visors. It is also worth mentioning that rain protective products made for glass should not be used on the windscreen. Instead, National Cycle's RainZip® (N1410-01) is recommended to keep the windscreen clear in rainy weather.
For further information and details on cleaning and maintenance, please refer to the cleaning instructions supplied with all National Cycle windshields.
