The feedback/gate xxxx on the ADDAC713 Stereo Discrete Mixer is used to overdrive the entire mix and create a gate effect. As the control is turned clockwise, the sound will be clipped harder until it goes completely off. This happens because as feedback is increased, the audio bias reference also moves up, offsetting the whole signal upwards until it completely goes above the top rail, resulting in the gate effect.
To use the feedback/gate xxxx :
1. Start by setting the xxxx to its minimum position (fully counterclockwise).
2. Gradually turn the xxxx clockwise to increase the feedback level.
3. As you turn the xxxx , you will notice the sound becoming more distorted and clipped.
4. Continue turning the xxxx until you achieve the desired level of distortion or gate effect.
5. Be cautious not to turn the xxxx too far, as extreme levels can result in the entire signal being clipped and cut off.
Please refer to the ADDAC713 Stereo Discrete Mixer User Guide for more detailed information on using the feedback/gate xxxx and other controls of the mixer.
