To assemble and use the Proctor Silex 74311PS Electric Knife, please follow these steps:
1. Before first use, wash the blades in hot, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
2. Make sure the cord is not connected to an electric outlet before removing or inserting the blades.
3. If the blades are separated, pick them up by the plastic guard. Slide the rivet on one blade into the keyhole slot in the other blade until they are locked together.
4. Holding the blades together at the base with the cutting edge down, slide them onto the motor housing until both blades click into place.
5. Plug the knife into an outlet.
6. Hold the knife by the handle and pull the ON/OFF switch like a trigger to operate. Note that you must hold the ON switch for the knife to operate.
7. To stop the knife, release the ON switch.
To clean and store the knife:
1. Always disconnect the cord from the electric outlet before inserting, removing, or cleaning the blades. The blades are sharp, so handle them carefully.
2. Unplug the knife.
3. Firmly pull back the blade release switch. Grasp the plastic guard, with your hand away from the cutting edge, and carefully pull until the blades release.
4. Carefully separate the blades by sliding them apart to disengage the rivet from the keyhole.
5. Wash the blades in hot, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
6. After washing and drying, immediately place the blades into the protective sleeve for storage.
7. To clean the motor housing and cord, wipe them with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
Please note that the Proctor Silex 74311PS Electric Knife is intended for household use only and should not be used outdoors. Additionally, always handle the blades with caution and avoid contacting moving parts.
