To install the Custom Dynamics CD-LPSEQ-BCM4-R Low Profile Sequential Saddlebag LED Lights on your Harley-Davidson motorcycle, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and remove the seat.
2. Locate the 6 pin connector going to the rear fender lighting and unplug it.
3. Install the BCM Adapter Harness in line with the rear fender lighting. The order of installation should be the bike's BCM main wiring harness, brake strobe module (if installed), BCM Adapter Harness, Run/Brake/Turn module (if installed), and then the bike's rear lighting harness.
4. Test fit the Low Profile Sequential Saddlebag Lights. The light with the purple wire in the harness should mount on the left saddlebag, and the light with the brown wire should mount on the right saddlebag. The lights should be mounted a couple of millimeters below the bottom edge of the lid when the lid is closed. Mark the location with a grease pencil.
5. Clean the area with denatured alcohol and allow it to dry.
6. Remove the red adhesive backing and install the lights on the left and right saddlebags. Press them into place, making sure the adhesive tape is making contact with the saddlebag.
7. Remove both saddlebags from the bike.
8. Select a location for the cable tie holders, clean the area with denatured alcohol, and allow it to dry. Remove the paper backing for the cable tie holders and press them into place.
9. Route the wires from the bag lights to each tie wrap holder location and secure them with the enclosed tie wraps.
10. Reinstall the saddlebags and connect the black 4 pin JAE connector from the bag lights to the BCM Adapter Harness.
11. Secure the wires under the seat with the included cable ties, ensuring that the wiring will not come in contact with moving parts or in an area with high heat. Take care that the wires will not get pinched or frayed when the seat is installed.
12. Perform a BCM sync by turning the ignition on, turning the 4-way hazards on, turning the ignition off, and allowing the 4-way hazards to run for 3-4 minutes. Then, turn the ignition on and turn the 4-way hazards off before turning the ignition off again.
13. Reinstall the motorcycle seat and test the operation of all lighting for proper running, brake, and turn signals before riding.
