To prepare the site for the installation of the FREEFLOW SPAS Monterey Hot Tub Reno, follow these guidelines:
1. Choose a structurally sound and level surface that can support the weight of the filled spa. The surface should have a maximum slope of ½" per 10' (1 cm per 3 m).
2. Ensure that the spa is located away from any reflective surfaces or glass, as the heat generated by these surfaces can damage the spa's exterior.
3. Place the equipment compartment, which houses the electrical components, in an area where water will drain away from it to prevent damage to the electronics.
4. Leave easy access to the circuit breakers in the subpanel (for 230 volt converted models) or the GFCI on the end of the power cord (for 115 volt models).
5. Avoid letting water get into the subpanel (for 230 volt converted models), GFCI (for 115 volt models), or the electrical outlet that the spa is plugged into.
6. Leave access to the equipment compartment for spa care and maintenance.
For outdoor installation, it is recommended to have a reinforced concrete pad at least four inches (10 cm) thick. If installing on a deck, ensure that the deck's load capacity is greater than the spa's weight.
For indoor installation, use flooring materials that provide good grip when wet and ensure proper drainage to prevent water build-up. Consider installing a floor drain and providing adequate ventilation to minimize moisture-related issues.
