To use the equip 129403 Universal Crimping Tool to crimp modular connectors, please follow these steps:
1. Prepare the cable: Strip off the outer insulation of the cable using the stripping function of the crimping tool. Make sure to expose the required length of the inner wires.
2. Untwist the inner wires: Separate the twisted pairs of wires and straighten them out. Ensure that the wires are aligned properly and not tangled.
3. Insert the wires into the connector: Insert the wires into the appropriate slots of the modular connector. For example, for a 6P4C/RJ11 connector, insert the wires into the slots labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.
4. Trim the excess wires: Use the cutting function of the crimping tool to trim any excess wires sticking out of the connector. Make sure to cut them flush with the connector.
5. Crimp the connector: Place the connector with the inserted wires into the crimping tool's crimping slot. Apply firm pressure to crimp the connector and secure the wires in place. Ensure that the crimping is done evenly and firmly.
6. Check the connection: After crimping, visually inspect the connector to ensure that all wires are properly seated and secured. You can also use a cable tester to verify the connectivity and functionality of the crimped connector.
