To install the PRAXIS M30-THRU MTB Crank on your bike, follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have a qualified bicycle technician or a professional bicycle dealer install the crank, as specific tools and experience are necessary for proper installation.
2. Before installation, read the service instructions of your crank carefully to ensure proper installation. Loose, worn, or damaged parts may cause riding problems and serious injury.
3. Check that your clothing does not get caught in the chain while riding. Ensure the chain tension is correct and not damaged. Replace the chain if the tension is weak or if it is damaged to prevent accidents.
4. Use a torque wrench to check the final tightening torque of the main crank bolt and chainring bolts. After riding approximately 100 km (60 miles), re-check the tightening torques. The main crank bolt should be torqued to 48-52 Nm, and the chainring bolts should be torqued to 8-10 Nm.
5. Ensure the bottom bracket shell is parallel to maintain proper shifting performance.
6. Before riding, check for any cracks in the crankarms. If there are any cracks, the crankarm may break, leading to a potential fall.
7. Check for play or looseness in the bottom bracket connection before riding. Periodically retighten the crank, chainring bolts, and pedals.
8. If you feel any looseness or play in the bearings, have the bottom bracket inspected or replaced.
9. Use only 10, 11, or 12-speed chains to ensure the designed performance.
10. Parts are not guaranteed against natural wear or deterioration resulting from normal use.
