To connect the Lenovo G8124E RackSwitch to your network, follow these steps:
1. Determine the type of connectivity you need: 1 Gb Ethernet or 10 Gb Ethernet.
2. Obtain the necessary SFP/SFP+ transceivers or DAC cables for your chosen connectivity type. Refer to the "Transceivers and cables" section of the user guide for a list of supported options.
3. Connect the transceivers or DAC cables to the 24 SFP/SFP+ ports on the front panel of the G8124E switch.
4. If you are using 1 Gb Ethernet connectivity, connect the other end of the transceivers or DAC cables to your 1 Gb infrastructure.
5. If you are using 10 Gb Ethernet connectivity, connect the other end of the transceivers or DAC cables to your 10 Gb infrastructure.
6. Optionally, you can also connect the G8124E switch to an upstream network using the RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mb Ethernet ports on the front panel for out-of-band management.
7. Power on the G8124E switch using the redundant fixed 275 W AC power supplies on the rear panel.
8. Monitor the status of the switch and the network using the LEDs on the front panel.
