To switch on the Extech SL250W Sound Level Meter, long press the power button. The meter operates on three 1.5 V (AAA) batteries, which should be properly installed in the rear compartment. If the meter does not switch on, check the batteries for proper orientation. When the battery icon appears on the display, replace the batteries immediately to ensure accurate readings.
