To install the Fostoria FES09241C FES-Series Heat Wave Electric Heater, follow these steps:
1. Assemble the handle: Remove the hardware securing the handle to the legs. Raise the handle until the holes align with the upper holes in the legs. Re-insert the hardware and fasten securely.
2. Wiring: The proper size SO-type feeder cable must be used for the electrical hook-up of this heater. Refer to the specifications table in the user guide for the recommended cable size. The feeder cable or cable kit assembly must be made by licensed electricians only. Connect the green ground conductor on the feeder cable or cable kit to the grounding lug on the heater. Comply with all local electrical codes and the National Electric Code (NFPA70) when providing electrical power to the heater.
3. Mounting: The FES models come mounted on a two-wheeled cart with wheels designed to be easily pushed or pulled over uneven surfaces. The YES models require some assembly. Follow the instructions in the user guide for the specific model to assemble and mount the heater. Make sure to use the supplied mounting bracket and ensure it is securely mounted to a suitable surface that can support the weight of the heater.
4. Operation: The FES and YES series heaters are designed to circulate room air across their heating elements to gradually increase room temperature. Use the multi-function thermostat to control the operation of the heater. The thermostat has a preset range of 40˚F to 100˚F. Position the xxxx pointer in the "fan-only" area to circulate room air without heating. Move the pointer into the "heat" area to energize the heating elements and set the thermostat. Allow the fan to operate for a minimum of 3 minutes after using the heater to purge heat from the unit.
Please refer to the user guide for more detailed instructions and safety precautions.
