To clean the CHI 13106 steam iron and remove mineral buildup from the soleplate, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
2. Fill the water tank with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water.
3. Turn the Temperature Setting Dial to the linen setting (...)
4. Plug in the iron and let it preheat for 2 minutes.
5. Place a clean, damp cloth or towel on your ironing board.
6. Hold the iron over the cloth and press the Self-Clean Button until steam starts to come out of the soleplate vents. Move the iron back and forth over the cloth to distribute the vinegar and water mixture.
7. Continue steaming until the water tank is empty.
8. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool.
9. Wipe the soleplate with a clean cloth or towel to remove any remaining residue.
10. Empty any remaining water from the water tank.
It is recommended to perform the self-clean function after each use of the steam function to keep the steam vents clear of mineral buildup. Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and longevity of your CHI 13106 steam iron.
