Cleaning the Rowenta DW8080 steam iron is important to maintain its performance and prolong its lifespan. Here is how you can clean the iron:
1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
2. Wipe the soleplate of the iron with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any dirt or residue. Avoid using sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or objects.
3. To clean the anti-scale system, fill the water tank with untreated tap water up to the maximum mark.
4. Heat the iron to the highest temperature setting (•••) and unplug it.
5. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink and move the steam control to the "Anti Calc" position. Steam will start to build up, and after a few seconds, water will emerge from the soleplate, rinsing out any dirt and scale particles from the steam chamber.
6. After about a minute, move the steam control to the "•" position.
7. Plug in the iron and allow it to heat up again. Wait until all the remaining water has evaporated.
8. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely before storing.
It is recommended to perform this cleaning process approximately every two weeks, or more frequently if your water is very hard. Remember to always follow the instructions provided in the manual for proper maintenance and cleaning of your Rowenta DW8080 steam iron.
