To clean the anti-calc valve of the Rowenta DW23 steam iron, please follow these steps:
1. Empty the water tank of the iron and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
2. Set the thermostat xxxx to the MAX position and the steam lever to the ON position.
3. Remove the anti-calc valve from the iron. It is located near the filling inlet.
4. Soak the anti-calc valve in a cup of plain lemon juice or a cup of white vinegar for 4 hours. Do not touch the end of the valve.
5. After soaking, rinse the anti-calc valve under running water.
6. Replace the anti-calc valve back into its position in the iron. Note that the iron will not function without the anti-calc valve.
7. Plug the iron back into the electrical outlet and let it heat up for 2 minutes to dry the soleplate.
8. Unplug the iron and let it cool down for 1 hour.
9. Once the soleplate has cooled down, you can wipe it with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not use detergent or sharp/abrasive cleaning accessories.
Cleaning the anti-calc valve every 2 weeks is recommended to maintain optimal steam performance.
