To mount the Community R.5-66MAX 2-Way Speaker, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Unpack the speaker and inspect it for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If there is any damage, file a claim with the freight company.
2. Inside the carton, you will find the speaker, a steel mounting yoke (pre-installed), a multi-angle aiming strap, an installation and operation manual, and a warranty card.
3. If you have the R.5-MAX or R2-MAX model, you will also find mounting hardware specific to those models. The R.5-MAX includes threaded studs, lock washers, flat washers, and hex nuts. The R2-MAX includes hex bolts, lock washers, flat washers, hex nuts, and rubber gaskets.
4. Attach the yoke to the support structure before mounting the loudspeaker enclosure. The yoke should be mounted using hardware specified by a structural engineer and should be weather-resistant.
5. Lift the loudspeaker into place between the yoke arms and attach it using the provided hardware. Make sure to support the enclosure until all connections are made and tighten the bolts to hold the loudspeaker in position.
6. Determine the desired angle of downward tilt and attach the angle securing strap(s) to the yoke using hardware supplied by the installer. This will help maintain the enclosure's weather resistance.
7. Attach a safety cable to one of the open mounting points on the loudspeaker. The safety cable should be secured to a load-bearing point separate from the loudspeaker mounting point to prevent undue kinetic force if the mounting bracket fails.
