To connect and configure the LevelOne GEP-0821 8 Port Gigabit PoE Switch, follow these steps:
1. Connect the power cord to the switch and plug it into a power outlet.
2. Connect your network devices (computers, printers, etc.) to the switch using Ethernet cables.
3. If you have PoE devices that require power, connect them to the PoE ports on the switch using Ethernet cables.
4. Once all the connections are made, power on the switch by pressing the power button located on the front panel.
5. Wait for the switch to boot up and initialize. The LED indicators on the front panel will show the status of each port.
6. By default, the switch should work in a plug-and-play mode, automatically detecting and configuring the network settings for your devices.
7. If you want to customize the switch settings, you can access the web-based management interface. Open a web browser on a connected computer and enter the IP address of the switch (default IP: 192.168.0.1) in the address bar.
8. You will be prompted to enter a username and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "admin". Enter these credentials to log in.
9. Once logged in, you can configure various settings such as VLANs, QoS, and PoE settings according to your requirements. Refer to the user guide for detailed instructions on the configuration options available.
