Closing and opening the Hawkins CXT30 Thick Base Pressure Cooker is a simple process. Here are the steps:
1. Closing the Pressure Cooker:
a. Before closing the pressure cooker, ensure that the handles are cool and safe to touch.
b. Place the lid on the pressure cooker body, aligning the handles of the lid with the handles of the body.
c. While closing, do not tilt the lid deeply into the cooker body. Use the minimum tilt required to avoid touching the food inside the cooker.
d. Before latching the handles together, centralize the lid so that the sealing ring is in even contact with the rim of the cooker body.
e. Squeeze the lid and body handles together at the end away from the cooker body. This requires the least force.
2. Opening the Pressure Cooker:
a. After the cooking process is complete, remove the pressure cooker from the heat source and allow it to cool naturally. Do not force open the pressure cooker while it is still pressurized.
b. Once the pressure has been released and the pressure cooker has cooled, you can proceed to open it.
c. Release the locking loop by lifting it up.
d. Hold the lid handle firmly and slowly lift the lid away from the cooker body. Do not let go of the lid handle or the lid may fall into the cooker.
