To set up the UBIQUITI U-LTE Wireless Router, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have the necessary system requirements, including a Linux, Mac OS X, or Windows 7/8/10 operating system, Java Runtime Environment 1.8 or above, and Google Chrome web browser (recommended).
2. Download and install the UniFi Controller software v5.12.x or newer from the ui.com/download/unifi website.
3. Connect an optional external LTE antenna to the RP-SMA antenna connector, if desired. If not using an external antenna, cover the connector with the RP-SMA Cap.
4. Connect the U-LTE to your LAN and DHCP server using the Main Gigabit Ethernet port. If providing PoE, connect it to an 802.3at PoE+ switch.
5. Power on the U-LTE and wait for it to boot up.
6. Access the UniFi Controller software and go to the Devices tab. The U-LTE should be automatically detected and begin the setup wizard. If not, select the U-LTE and click Adopt.
7. Click Setup LTE and enter your ui.com account email address or username and password. If you don't have an account, create a new one.
8. Enter your payment information, including credit card details, and click Next.
9. The U-LTE will reboot and may take up to 20 minutes to activate on the cellular network. Click Done to close the setup screen.
10. To monitor data usage and access additional settings, click on the U-LTE device in the Devices screen of the UniFi Controller. From there, you can enable an external antenna, enable PoE passthrough, and set the LTE data plan.
