To install the CRUISER HEAD FJ60-62 Plug and Play Trailer Harness, follow these steps:
1. Remove the left taillight and set it aside.
2. Carefully remove the left rear cargo panel.
3. Unplug the green plug located behind the rear cargo panel.
4. Take the 4-pin plug from the 3-2 Converter and feed it below your truck through the rubber grommet.
5. Unspool the entire Trailer Harness and feed it through the same grommet. Plug the 7-pin barrel converter into the 3-2 converter and pull all slack wire into the truck. Secure the harness in place under the truck using the wire securing tabs from your vehicle.
6. Plug the connector with "L" on it in between the left taillight and the main wire harness.
7. Plug the connector with "R" on it between the green plugs mentioned in Step 3.
8. Plug the 3-2 Converter's black power wire into the main trailer harness.
9. Remove the front kick panel, bottom plastic trim pieces, and the seatbelt cover from the left side of your car. Feed the wire in the existing wire channel from your FJ60/62. At the front footwell, coil up the rest of the blue cable and tuck it away or use it with the existing trailer brake controller. Feed the wire through either the left- or right-hand engine firewall grommets, leaving slack in the harness to tuck away wire hidden away by trim.
10. Remove lower door trim from the front and rear left-hand side doors, as well as the front left kick panel. Hide the wire under the plastic trim.
11. Depending on whether you choose to feed the harness through the right or left engine bay grommets, follow the dotted or dashed lines as pictured for a wire path. Use pre-existing metal wire tabs to secure the harness to the firewall. Avoid feeding the harness where it will be in contact with sharp edges or hang loose. Do not let the harness come in direct contact with moving or hot engine components.
12. Once all slack in the harness has been situated, re-install all trim pieces and secure the 3-2 converter with the pre-applied double-sided tape. Do not mount the converter outside of your cabin or anywhere where it could get wet.
13. Connect the white cable to the negative battery post and the black cable with the red cable fuse to the positive battery post. Tuck away any loose wire and test the system.
