To clean the Oster Electric Can Opener, follow these steps:
1. Before cleaning, make sure to unplug the cord from the outlet.
2. All removable parts should be detached and cleaned thoroughly in warm, sudsy water at regular intervals. This includes the cutting assembly, lid holder, and any other detachable parts.
3. The motor housing can be wiped clean using a damp cloth. However, do not immerse the motor housing in water.
4. The drive wheel can be wiped off with a damp cloth.
5. To clean the blade assembly, first, unplug the cord from the outlet. Lift the piercing lever to the vertical position. Hold the can opener and ease the cutting assembly out of the case. Wash the blade assembly in the dishwasher or in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
6. To replace the blade assembly, hold the piercing lever in the vertical position. Insert the shaft into the keyhole. Push in the piercing lever all the way. Rotate the piercing lever clockwise until it is horizontal. If the lever is properly engaged, it cannot be removed from the can opener when in the horizontal position.
7. It is recommended to wash the cutting mechanism frequently as it may collect food or paper from can labels.
Remember to always unplug the cord before cleaning and never submerge the can opener in water.
