To upload new software to your Chroma-Q device using the Uploader II software storage device, please follow these steps:
1. Connect the Uploader II to your computer using a USB cable.
2. Delete any existing files and folders on the Uploader II memory.
3. Locate the software (.bin) file on your computer.
4. Copy the software (.bin) file to the Uploader II.
5. Disconnect the Uploader II from your computer before proceeding to upload the firmware to the devices.
Note: If you are using a Mac computer to copy the firmware onto the Uploader II, you must manually delete any extra hidden files added by Mac OS from the memory.
To upload the software from the Uploader II to your Chroma-Q device:
1. Connect the Uploader II to a PC or external USB power supply.
2. The Uploader II display will show the Control Menu screen with the current software file for uploading.
3. Connect an XLR 5-pin cable from the Uploader II to the target Chroma-Q device (fixture or PSU).
4. Power up the Chroma-Q device.
5. On the Uploader II screen, press the "ERASE TARGET" button. The target device will display "ERASE FLASH" or "Erasing" to indicate the erasing process.
6. Once the erase is complete, the target device will display "PROGRAM DOWNLOAD" or "Push Start Button" to indicate that it is ready for the upload.
7. On the Uploader II screen, press the "START UPLOADING" button. Both the Uploader II and the target device will display "Uploading" to indicate that the upload is in progress.
8. Upon completion of a successful upload, the Uploader II will display "UPLOADING DONE" and the target device will reset to the Main Menu.
9. If the target device displays "CHECKSUM UNMATCHED," the uploading process was unsuccessful. Wait for the Uploader II Control Menu to automatically re-activate and the target device to display "PROGRAM DOWNLOAD" or "Push Start Button," then repeat steps 5 to 8.
Note: Upload only one fixture at a time.
