To connect and configure the FGP-1031 10-Port Fast Ethernet PoE Switch, follow these steps:
1. Physical Connection:
a. Connect one end of the power cord to the power socket on the switch and the other end to a power outlet.
b. Connect your network devices (computers, printers, etc.) to the switch using Ethernet cables.
c. If you have devices that require PoE (Power over Ethernet), connect them to the PoE ports on the switch.
2. Power On:
Once all the connections are made, power on the switch by pressing the power button located on the front panel. The power LED should light up.
3. Configuration:
The FGP-1031 switch does not have a management interface, so it does not require any configuration. It operates in a plug-and-play mode, allowing devices to communicate freely on the network.
4. LED Indicators:
The switch has several LED indicators on the front panel to provide status information. The Link/Act LEDs indicate the link and activity status of each port. The PoE LED indicates the power status of the PoE ports. The Power LED indicates the power status of the switch.
5. Additional Features:
The switch has a DIP switch located on the front panel that allows you to configure different modes:
- Standard Mode: All ports communicate freely, adapting to common data transmission environments.
- VLAN Mode: Switch to VLAN mode, isolating down-link ports from each other and allowing data uploads and downloads through the uplink port. This helps suppress network failures like broadcast storms and virus attacks.
- Super Mode: Downlink speed limitation of 10Mbps for ultra-far transmission up to 250 meters.
