To release the pressure in the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, you have two options: natural pressure release (NPR) and quick pressure release (QPR).
1. Natural Pressure Release (NPR):
- After cooking is complete, the Instant Pot will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode.
- Allow the pressure to release naturally, which can take anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes depending on the amount of food and pressure inside.
- Do not attempt to open the lid until the float valve has dropped down completely, indicating that all pressure has been released.
2. Quick Pressure Release (QPR):
- Use caution when performing a quick pressure release as hot steam will forcefully escape from the valve.
- Ensure the pressure cooker is placed on a stable surface away from any obstructions.
- Using a long utensil or tongs, carefully turn the steam release handle from the "Sealing" position to the "Venting" position.
- The steam will start releasing immediately, so keep your hands and face away from the steam vent.
- Once the float valve drops down completely and all pressure is released, it is safe to open the lid.
