To install the Infinity Basslink DC powered subwoofer system, it is recommended to have it installed by a qualified professional. However, if you choose to install it yourself, here are the general installation steps:
1. Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery terminal before starting the installation.
2. Choose a mounting location that doesn't interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle and secure the mounting bracket using four sheet metal screws.
3. Attach the BassLink DC to the mounting surface using appropriate mounting screws.
4. Connect the power wires from the BassLink DC harness to the vehicle's positive battery terminal, and install a fuse holder with a 25A fuse within 18" of the battery.
5. Connect the ground wires from the BassLink DC harness to a solid point on the vehicle's chassis, ensuring the metal surface is clear of paint.
6. If your head unit has a remote output wire, connect the blue/white remote wire from the BassLink DC harness to it. If your head unit only has speaker-level outputs, use speaker wire to connect the high-level input wires on the BassLink DC harness to the speaker outputs of the head unit.
7. Make the necessary power and signal connections to the BassLink DC wiring harness, and plug the harness into the input marked "POWER/HIGH-LEVEL IN" on the BassLink DC.
8. If your head unit has a dedicated subwoofer output, connect it to the line-level inputs on the BassLink DC using an RCA patch cable. If your head unit has four line-level outputs, you can use RCA patch cables to connect all four outputs to the four line-level inputs on the BassLink DC. If your head unit only has two line-level outputs, you can connect them to either the front or rear line-level inputs on the BassLink DC.
9. Set the Input Level switch to "LO" if using RCA-level outputs from an aftermarket radio, or start with the switch set to "HI" or "HI2" if using high-level outputs.
10. Set the Auto Turn On switch to "On" if you did not connect the BassLink DC's remote turn-on connection, or set it to "Off" if you did connect the remote turn-on connection.
11. Adjust the gain control, crossover control, and bass boost control to match the input sensitivity of the BassLink DC with the output of your receiver and to suit your personal preference.
12. Test the BassLink DC to ensure it is functioning properly.
